h is for happy: week 21

Welcome to the 21st installment of 'H is for Happy' - the weekly feature that highlights five things that put a big fat grin on my face! Although, I feel as if I'm cheating slightly because this is a scheduled post as at the moment I'll be sat on a train back to my (crap) hometown. I hope you all have a really good week and remember to keep smiling (:

101; antiques and old fashioned objects

102; spontaneous doodles and illustration

103; house hunting and daydreaming about how you'd decorate it

104; looking out at the perfect view with someone you love

105; adorable babies! (I want that hat)

There you have it (: See you on Wednesday for one of my quick thoughts ;) Lovely jubbly! Before you go, let me know whats been making you happy this past week!

Busy Bee 3

001; I feel as if this week doesn't really render the need for a summary. I just feel as if it was just wasted. I didn't do a lot and I felt rather ':/'. This unemployment malarky is really getting to me of late. Jobs are popping up now for March. I just don't want to be out of work/pocket for that long! I might start up a blog shop and sell on my jewellery...I have a horrendous amount. Would anyone be interested?! Any money I can gather together would be much appreciated to be honest. I have a holiday to Corfu to pay off before I can even start saving for the flat / university life. Bloody hell!

002; I've been far too slack this week with regards to my goals. I've just not had the enthusiasm. I think I raced through the most plausible ones at the start of the year so now I feel left with unbeatable ones :/ Unbeatable in this mood anyway! Although, I have started reading another book so this will bump up the reading figure. I've also had a driving lesson so I'm working towards my driving goals. It's all going rather well at the moment. Previous lessons have seen me forget what the pedals meant whilst driving :/ Whuuuuut?! Obviously, job hunting has meant I've been working towards my goal of getting a job. I hope within the next few weeks I'll see myself crossing goals off instead of just slowly progressing with them. Having said all this, this weekend I did work towards a few more. Go see my progress here. Are you struggling? Read the post I did on completing goals here.

003; I guess I spent the whole week in anticipation for the weekend! Being in a 'LDR' is really taking its toll lately. I just can't wait for the next few months to fly by. I've got a post on distant relationships lined up for next week. I put a lot of thought and effort into it so I hope people appreciate it however word heavy it is! I've had an amazing weekend with the boy. It's just quite overwhelming to see one another after such a long time :/

004; I'm in the lovely Emma's feature today. Go check it out when it's up!

A few to follow: Lily, Kim and Elizabeth.
You should also check out: The Julie Project.

snap happy 003

(Quick ask...Could you vote in the little poll I've got up on the left hand column please?! I'd be eternally grateful. I'm just curious as to what people like/expect as I'd love to jazz this place up a bit. Cheers!)

22nd-28thjan:
I've taken bugger all photos this week :/ I feel quite guilty to be honest. I guess I've been feeling ill/not doing a lot so I didn't really have much to document. That's unless you'd love a week in photos post of me just sat in front of Phil and Holly with a sandwich...Answers in a comment ;) I'm rather excitable today because I'm off to see the boy in a few hours with a bag packed full of everything but the kitchen sink it seems. Woops! Have a lovely weekend. Hope you enjoy the photos.

001; Moustached Beauty. Yes, this was taken last Saturday but hey, that wasn't covered by my last WIP post. Heh, that nearly abbreviates itself as whip ;) Filth. Basically, I have no recollection of this photo being taken :/ It's me and the gorgeous Fashion student Kelly. I love her. She's one of the bests.

002; Dairy Milk. Oh yes, getting my priorities right! I hate it when I'm craving chocolate and there's none to be found in the cupboards. These 8 bars won't last for long. Trust me.

003; Moab Is My Washpot. I absolutely adore Stephen Fry. This is his first autobiography. I'd recommend it to any Fry fan. It's beautifully written. It almost comes across as a novel. It really gives me the writing bug too. I think I might start writing a few things this year. Check out my owl bookmark!

004; Packed bags. I'm off to see the boy today and here are my lovely packed bags, haha. I think I've packed everything but the kitchen sink but hey ho! I would show you the contents but that's private ;) Mieow.

005; Painting. This is a painting that my Grandma recently gave us. She's such a good artist. I've got many fond memories as a child playing on the beach whilst my Grandma sat and pencilled our frollicks. Lovely. I'm the girl in the middle in this painting (: It makes me feel famous!

006; Bomb site. This is where I blog/tweet/skype from at night. It's a tip at the moment because I was rushing around trying to pack everything. I'll tidy it when I'm home. It's nice to see people's 'creative spaces' don't you think?!

007; Horrendous. I thought I'd best throw in another photo of me. I was rushing around this week not really bothering with make-up so I thought I'd introduce you to my hydration mask face. I highly recommend it. It's by No7 from Boots. It leaves your skin feeling refreshed and doesn't feel heavy when you have it on.  It doesn't make you look like this much of a spaz. I just have a talent.

I'm sorry this post isn't very exciting but that's just my life at the moment :/ Next weeks will be much better, I promise (: Have a lovely weekend sweets. I'll see you Sunday for my 'Busy Bee' post. Lovely jubbly.

wednesday wants: week four

I'm absolutely skint so there's about a billion things on this planet I want. That's how it always seems to work :/ I'm trying not to browse for too many things because I know it'll just depress me further so I thought I'd just pick out a few items this week. I've had my eye on 'Wreck This Journal' for a while now. I think it's a brilliant concept. Basically, you have to do exactly what it says on the front cover! Each page gives you tasks to do that will see you creatively 'wreck' it. This includes things like cracking the spine, getting a friend to draw all over the page and poking holes through the journal! I think it's the perfect release for the perfectionists amongst us. Plus, it's currently only just over a fiver on Amazon so it's not gunna be too much of a pain on your bank balance. Lovely!

I'd seen Topshop's gorgeous little scalloped vests on many blogs but none of them really took my fancy. Don't get me wrong, the scalloped edges are beautiful and delicate but I like my tops to be a little more 'busy' as it were. When I saw this little polka dot beauty I was very intrigued! I think it'd look so cute for Spring/Summer with a floral headband and the perfect pair of distressed denim shorts. Oh, why can't it be Spring now?! It's really not very fair at all. I really cannot wait for it. Have any of you ladies/gents got any summer plans? I'll be going to see Blink live, jetsetting to Corfu and celebrating my birthday (: Lovely.

I've always been a massive fan of interiors and always dreamt of the day that I could decorate my own place. Of course, now that I know I've got a flat all ready for later this year I've been mega excited hunting for things. Obviously, I won't be able to go for the whimsical florals that I would really want because I'll be living with a smelly boy. Therefore, I've had to make a few sacrifices! Instead, we'll be going for the more quirky pieces. This robot lamp is perfect! I'm a big fan of mood lighting and I think this little fella would look lovely on a side table. Furthermore, it's only a tenner so everyone's a winner baby.

Fingers crossed that I actually manage to find a job soon and be able to afford to save for such things. In the meantime, I'll continue to daydream! Hope you're having a nice week. All I can say is roll on Friday! BOOM.

h is for happy: week 20

It feels really refreshing to write these posts again. I didn't realise just how much I loved doing it and I'm glad you lot enjoy them too (: I've now reached 100 things that make me happy! Wow, it's been amazing to just sit back each week and really think about the small things in life that I'd usually take for granted. Even though I've reached such a milestone I think I'm gunna carry on with this feature. I think, especially at this time of year, we all need a boost once in a while and I'd like to think that this feature allows a lot of people to feel better. Even if that feeling of joy is only felt for a couple of minutes it makes it all worth it! It's also theraputic for me so...I hope you haven't had enough of 'H is for Happy'! By the way, I've added a little poll to the left hand side column so if you have a spare minute whilst reading this post could you answer it please (: It's just to get a better idea of what people like seeing over here at 'Vivatramp'. Thank you.

096; baking cakes (& eating them all afterwards)

097; knowing that you have a place in someone's heart

098; thinking about spring & summer & the memories they'll bring

099; really beautiful photography

100; hearing amazing things from that one person you love most

I just want to take the time to thank each and every one of you. This blog has become an extremely large part of my life and actually makes me feel like I've accompolished something! I can't really imagine life without it now. Or life without you guys. If ever I need someone to talk to I know that some of you girls would be there in a flash. That means everything. So, thank you for following. It means the absolute world to me! Have an awesome week. I can't wait for this weekend (:

Busy Bee: 2

(I was planning on taking nice photos but I didn't anticipate my vodka intake)

001; This week I began the job hunt! I live in a seaside town so as you may have guessed - the work tends to be seasonal! This makes it a complete pain in the ass to find a job within the drab months. There was one place that took my CV. The supermarket down the road from me is advertising in a couple months. I really want a job there so it's pathetic that there's no spaces right now! I really hope I find something. I need money to go and see the boy. I think a lot of us are feeling the strain on our bank balances of late, huh?! Keep your fingers crossed that I find something soon.

002; This week has been a bit less productive for my goals. I've continued goals but I haven't actually completed many. I suppose this is still good progress! This week I attempted my singing vlog about a billion times. I think I'm gunna re-do it then post it up soon. I also started sorting out my itunes library. It's all a jumble but I wanna make sure I've got my CD's on there and some newer stuff for when I move in September. The boy's music taste is a little hit and miss at times so I'm gunna need my stuff to keep me sane! I watched a bit of Harry Potter so that adds to my film goal. I know having a goal to watch 500 films sounds a little like cheating because it's so much fun but I actually want to become more cultured. I think it'll help me and my journalistic aspirations (: I've also continued to keep a diary daily - bloody miracle! Of course, job hunting helped towards my employment goal even though I haven't got anywhere so far. I hope next week will see me completing some goals. Although, having said that I did complete my goal of answering the 50 questions that will free your mind. Some of them were real eye openers!

003; It was finally confirmed this week that flat number 104 is ours! Oh, hello independence. I kinda had a low moment the other night on Twitter. I didn't mean to but sometimes I just find it a little difficult to cope around here. It's tough times. However, I cannot thank you girls enough for cheering me up. Honestly, it means the world that I have such amazing friends on here! I just wish I knew every single one of you in real life (:

004; Last night I got terribly drunk (hence the above photos) and pretty much had one of the worst nights. I had to be picked up by like 11 because I'd been sat weeping for hours. Drunken hearts speak sober minds and seeing all the couples together just really hurt. As horrid as it sounds, I can't wait til I'm one of those couples silently judging the weepy drunken girl in the pub. I'm just gunna make my apologies, not drink again and wait patiently to see the boy next friday.

snap happy 002

Hello my lovelies! Welcome to my second 'week in photos' post. It's been a relatively nice week. I think I tend to un-appreciate times when I'm just craving time with the boy. However, a week from now I'll be with him and I mega cannot wait! It's gunna be so so nice to just chill out and get away from the stress of unemployment. It's been really getting me down lately. I just want a nice job to tie me through til September but there's nothing :/ I feel like it makes me look bad...as if I'm not trying. I'm absolutely skint at the moment. I can't even afford to buy cards for my Dad. I just hope something crops up! I hope you're all well and had a good week! I think I might go up town tomorrow night and show my face...we'll see! Anyway, here's a few photos I've taken throughout the week....Enjoy!

001 & 002; Wallpaper Rose Package. My blue monday was cheered up by the arrival of my Golden Snitch necklace! The packaging alone was undeniably cute so I had high hopes for unwrapping the little beauty. It certainly didn't disappoint! I'm gunna look after this little delight! I can't wait to wear it to the cinema in July ;) Oh god, that was horrendously fan girl wasn't it?!

003; University confirmation. I got fed up of waiting for my last university to reply to me so I took matters into my own hands, withdrew the place and then replied to the offer I'd really been wanting! I've now got the flat and the course sorted. I'm really excited to be heading off to university this year. This gap year has been a pain in the ass. However, I had to take it because of my stupid health! I just can't wait to start get the ball rolling on the future now!

004; Duran Duran CD. When I was growing up my Mamabear ensured that I was brought up on a diet of 80's music and pop culture. So, whenever I play this CD I instantly get transported. I loooove Duran Duran beyond belief. I'd definitely recommend this CD to anyone that needs a good dance or needs a quick pick me up. Yeah, I have an eclectic music taste!

005; The XX. This photo probably backs up that last statement! I'm a massive fan of dark moody music (after all, The Cure are one of my fave bands) so when I came across The XX a couple years back I was completely sold! I absolutely adore Intro. It's just a beautiful overview of their sound. I wish it was longer than two sodding minutes though :/ & Ooh, look at our Gem getting in my photos post ;) Cheeky mare!

006; Drying Up. I know! It's not exactly the most thrilling thing in the world but if I'm gunna do a week in photos post and not include at least one chore then it's not a true representation. I'm unemployed at the moment so it's my job to be the housewife all day and keep things neat and tidy. Here's some lovely festive drying up I had waiting for me. Oh joy (:

007 & 008; The sweetest text in the world. This is extremely personal but I think 'vivatramp' has sort of become a lifestyle/happiness/positive living blog so I thought I'd show you the one thing that made me cry with happiness for a silly amount of time. It's so difficult being apart from him for the majority of the month so when I get things like this sent to me their just arent enough words to explain how happy it makes me. It's the one thing that makes me happiest bar actually spending time with him. I even love the spelling/grammar mistakes, ha. Sure, we are young and yeah it's his first proper relationship but if you're happy and you know it (clap your hands) what's the point in changing it?! All I know is that I'm an extremely lucky Bee!

009; Mini Eggs.  Don't you just love how early supermarkets put their Easter goodies out?! I think a fair few of us have already been indulging in our share of Cadbury/Lindt bunnies, Mini Eggs and of course Creme Eggs! I used to love the days when you got about a billion Easter Eggs that'd last you til about summertime! These days it's a miracle if I get one. Boo hoo!

010; Me, myself and I. I thought I'd include a photo of me in each 'week in photos' so here you go! For some reason the cam has smudged half my face so it looks hairy :/ Haha, I assure you I am not one of those wolf people. It also doesn't look like I was wearing a lot but I was wearing a cami top! I'm not that raunchy ;)

Have a lovely weekend. I'll see you Sunday for 'Busy Bee'. Lovely!

a quick thought: how to get off your arse and meet your goals....

Such a classy blog title, I know! For a lot of us, it's got to that time in January where it becomes difficult to tear yourself away from the comfort of the duvet cover and actually get dressed for the day. The cold weather and darkened sky makes us question whether we can actually be arsed to cross off things on our to do lists or enrich our lives further. A cup of tea with Holly and Phil seems a better deal than attempting to tackle tasks that have started to adorn not one but two sides of paper. That's where I come in....That's right, Aunty Bee to the rescue! For some strange reason, I am feeling the most happy, confident and productive I have ever felt all thanks to my focus and drive to complete my goals that I set myself at the start of the month. I thought I'd share my tips with all my lovely followers/readers in hope that they may help those out there struggling a little bit with their things to do, resolutions and goals. I'm not saying that they'll cure everyone and we'll all be happy ever after but if these tips have helped me then why can't they help someone else too?!

Obviously, this isn't literal! I've been finding myself getting twice the goals completed through incorporating them together. For example, the other day I had a friend over to watch a movie. Hello, 2 goals in one handy helping of fun! This is an effective way of getting things done without feeling the stress of attempting to complete goal after goal.

It all sounds a tad too Supernanny but trust me if incentive is needed then this one is fool-proof! I think it's safe to make the assumption that the majority of us bloggers like a little bit of retail therapy, even if our bank accounts don't, so why not use this fact to aid your motivation?! You could say to yourself that once you've completed however many goals you'll purchase a little treat. I think one of the best ways of rewarding yourself for doing goals is to make yourself an Amazon wishlist. All you have to do is raid websites and add your adored items to your wishlist then everytime you cross off a particular amount of goals you can treat yourself to something off your list. It's certainly helped me! Hello Golden Snitch necklace ;)

I think it's easy to go overboard when writing your list of goals. We often forget that they actually need to be attainable and end up making them completely unrealistic meaning that everytime we read our lists we are left with a feeling of dread. By applying a realistic timescale that you wish to complete your goals within you can make the process a whole lot easier and less threatening. I decided that the Day Zero Project was ideal for me because it gives me a timescale of 2 and a bit years. This means that I can still live a normal life and take time out in between working towards my goals. This is perfect for those of us that may work or undertake things which mean we rarely get little time to ourselves!

In my experience, if you make your goal measurable you're more likely to be interested in measuring your own progress with it. For example: instead of having a goal to 'lose weight' change it to 'lose a stone'. This means you'll be able to work towards something  a lot more specific. Furthermore, it's paramount to measure your progress regularly. By measuring your progress you get that warming feeling of productivity that makes you wish to continue with more.

I'm sure bloggers will be able to understand this more than anybody! Over here in the blogosphere we love our little community and I always think to myself how much we all strive to see others doing well/being happy. If you've got a friend that's struggling to complete their goals, like yourself, why not team up with them? This could be anything from helping one another complete/work towards a goal or by simply having a weekly round-up of your goal progress. This will give you an incentive to be motivated because nobody likes to let anyone down! For the competitive ladies amongst us, why not turn goal completion into a competition? You could put some money into a little fund and the person to complete the most goals within the elected timescale gets the winnings!

I honestly hope this post will help some people struggling out there and maybe inspire them to get motivated. If you'd like any more advice or if you have any questions please feel free to either comment me here or email me. How's your goal completion going? Are you finding it easy this year or are you falling behind slightly?

h is for happy: week 19

Gosh, it feels good to be typing up a 'H is for Happy' post again. 2011 is sidelined as a 'happy' year for me. A year that I look to find the good in all situations, people and opportunities. I'm going to walk around with a smile on my face and surround myself by people. I'm not going to let myself reach the lows that I did last night. No way, José! Therefore, I think this feature is going to be a lot more poignant this year than it was last year. This is simply because this year I'm enjoying things more. Things are actually making me happy! I hope you're all well and that 2011 is a good year for you! I've got a load more posts sidelined and I'm focusing entirely on my goals in order to get them done and in turn make a very happy/productive Bee! Enjoy (:

091; knowing that awesome things are on their way in the post!

092; the rush of adrenaline you get at a good gig

093; the ambience in bookshops

094; realising things aren't so bad after all

95; exploring new places

I honestly recommend just writing down the things that make you feel happy if you sometimes struggle to see the brighter things in life (: It's really helped me and is really theraputic. As part of the new happier me, I'd love to know what makes my followers/readers/stalkers happy! Let me know in a comment what's been making you cheery and you never know...your little rays of happiness might feature in this post someday soon! Have a lovely week sweets.

Busy Bee: week one

Sheer USA Flag T-shirt: New Look
Lipstick: Gosh @ Superdrug

001; See what I did with the title?! I know what you're thinking - I'm far too witty for my own good!  I used to do little 'quick updates' but I thought I'd format it all a little better and turn I thought I'd introduce a little weekly round-up of what I've been doing on the blog because it'll help me to track my goal progress, it's a nice post to end the week on and it accompanies my personal diary nicely. I'd also like to include a little photo of me each week 'cause I don't take enough photos of me :/ However, I have like nowhere in the house that has good lighting. Boo! This is the best I could do for you this week.

002;  This week saw my return to normality / independence because the boy headed back to university. I've felt amazingly positive about it all and I'm so proud of myself for being so level headed. I think it's because I've grown in both confidence and trust.  It's also given me time to evaluate everything and be productive where my goals are concerned. This week I've managed to start my reading goal, complete my achievements goal, complete the letter goal, cross off my flat goal, complete my savings account goal, cross off / note down all goals related to London and add to my goal of watching 500 films. Phew, what a productive week! I sincerely hope I carry on in such a fashion!

003; My parcels arrived this week which I was extremely chuffed about! However, it'll probably mark the end of me receiving packages for a while now because I currently have barely anything to my name. Oh, I really don't like unemployment :/ I wish New Look still had a job for me. It was the first job I can hand on heart say I loved. I want to get something else in retail but I live in a seaside town who's idea of clothes shops consists of a teeny weeny New Look and a Peacocks. Not very inspiring! I'm going to properly start the job search next week so wish me luck! Saying all this, I did sneakily purchase the Golden Snitch necklace I'd been after!

004; The boy and I got productive and moved further with our plans to find a flat together this year. We've had a shit time trying to sort it all out because certain letting agencies were absolutely pathetic, incompetent and ignorant. However, we stumbled across another agency thanks to a lovely leaflet hander outer (I doubt that's the actual job title) and found a nice looking flat. I am very excited and happy to say: we have a flat! That's right. We have got ourselves a little home to share. We won't be moving in together for months yet so it seems so premature but I'm  just so glad we've finally got it sorted! It also helped me to cross off goal number two. Hurrah! I can't wait (:

005; I had a real nice couple of days with my mate. We ended up going to an 18th which just ended up in me getting rather tiddly. The highlights were seeing my old gang of friends again, straddling my boobalicious friend on the dancefloor and drunkenly warbling along to 'Make You Feel My Love' in the smoking area. CLASSY ;)

I hope you all have a really good week. I'm gunna carry on being productive and go hunting for jobs! I'm also going to start reading another book. Lovely!

& and some lovely ladies to take a look at: JennieAlexandra, Monika and Masoom.

snap happy 001

This week has been one of those where I've seen myself returning to normality and the woes of unemployment. However, despite being completely skint I'm still really happy. I'm writing in my diary daily and each day I'm managing to work towards my goals. It's been really refreshing. I'd been wanting to start up a week in photos feature for a while but had just been so lazy when it came to taking snaps for them. However, I promised myself that 2011 would see me being more productive and pro active so I've got my act together and taken a load for your eyes to see. Let me know what you think....Would you like to see this feature weekly over here at Vivatramp?

001; Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. I watched my guilty pleasure! Ow, I know it's bad but I really like Alan Davies and Aaron Johnson is rather cute with the mute button on! It also helped me to work further towards my goal of watching more films so it can't all be bad.

002; My Accessorize slipper boots. I cannot stop wearing these beauties! They're so comfy and I never want to leave them. The Pom Poms are just so sweet too. I've never loved a pair of booties more (:

003/004; Leopard Print Satchel.  I'd see this bad boy over on a few blogs and instantly fell in love with it. I'm such a sucker for leopard print :/ I think this bag will look lovely filled with all my books and crap. The boy doesn't like it. He said it looks like an old granny bag...but for one of those old grannies that 'still has sex and shit'. Such a charmer, huh?! I love her.

005; Me, myself and I. Sometimes, I wake up and just feel it's necessary to wear lipstick indoors all day. Thursday was one of those days. Please ignore the shitty webcam quality :/ I'm looking out for a dark red lipstick because the boy hated this one! Typical. Anybody got any recommendations for me?!

006; Ice Gems. These little babies were on offer so my Ma decided to treat me to a whole big bag of them to munch through. What a lovely lady, eh?! I'm a tad immature though. I drew two circles on a piece of paper and put ice gems in the middle to look like nips. However, after giggling for a bit I realised I'd just drawn them on my appointment from the hospital. FAIL!

007; My Amazing Customisation. Yes, this is what the front of my diary looks like! I love personalising my diary after all it's meant to be a 100% personal thing. The boy says it looks like a 7 year old has done it but I think that's part of the charm. How do you customise your diary?

008; My Diary Pages. Here's some proof that I've written in my diary every day so far! That's a world record for me. Of course, I couldn't publish the pages of my diary on here! I cleverly pixelated all the juicy goss ;) Sorry girls, but it's a diary after all!

009/010; Tapestry Bag from Jazzpad.  I won this gorgeous bag through a giveaway that the lovely Claire had over at her blog. It's a little vintage diamond. I can definitely see me carrying it everywhere. It's a really nice size too. My ma has got her eyes on her so if she goes missing I'm sure she'll turn up on my mother's arm. Not under my watch!

011; Zines and card from Jazzpad. Here's some other goodies I got in my gorgeous tapestry bag that I won through Jazzpad's giveaway! I haven't looked through all the zines yet but they're so cool and the card contained far too many kind words from the lovely Claire (:

012; Octopus Ring. Another little beauty that I got in my giveaway from Jazzpad! The little fella wouldn't photograph very well even when in focus so I'm afraid this is the best I could do. I'm certainly gunna be wearing him a lot!

013; Soap & Glory goods and Choccy coins.  Even more goodies from Claire! I'm a big fan of Soap and Glory products so I can wait to use these. I'm such a big fan of shower products! I'm allergic to some though, boo! I was also rather pleased to find these choccy coins in there too. We'd ran out of chocolate so it was a great way to get my fix!

014; Toppers owl earrings. As you may know, I absolutely adore owls so when I saw these little beauties included in my goodies I was so happy (: HOWEVER, I do not have my ears pierced.
